TOTW: Golden Flick

Here is my treasury of the week. I am super proud and excited to share it with you! It makes me want to party like it's 1929! The items are so beautifully set up and photographed that I almost feel a little bad for taking curation credit. I really could see this on the Front Page of Etsy.com
What do you think?

Etsy Treasuries: To Do or Not To Do?

Someone recently asked me about treasuries and if I think they are worth participating in and if they lead to sales?

My response is, I would absolutely suggest participating! Yes, it is hard to get views on treasuries if you or the people you feature in it do not start a little promotion yourselves, so it is always good to use as many keywords and tags as you can. (Hint: Look at the trending keywords on the treasuries page, and use that as a starting point for a new treasury if you have no ideas on what to do)

I have never had an item on the Front Page, however one of the treasuries I'VE made has been on the Front Page which surprisingly got me quite a number of new followers and shop admirers. It did not lead to any sales that day, but I did have a couple sales within the week (whether or not it was because of my name being on the Front Page for an hour or not, I'll never know).

Another suggestion is to join a promotional group or Team that participates in treasuries. There is one game I LOVE called "Make 1 Treasury, Be in 16". Basically, you add yourself to a list of 17 people and their shop links. Each person then creates just 1 treasury with 1 item from each of the other 16 people (you would not feature yourself, obviously). When all is said and done, you will have spent just a little time creating ONE treasury, and as a result you will be in SIXTEEN other treasuries! Voila!

If you and everyone else involved favorites all the treasuries you've just created, you will have 17 treasuries in 17 different peoples feeds, so anyone following them will see. Brilliant idea if you ask me...

What are your thoughts on treasuries?
Do you think they help bring exposure to your goods?

I realized that there aren't many people who know me, Allyson Michelle, aside from being owner and creator of Knotty NY Friendship Bracelets and Accessories. I am 24 years old living in New York City. I work part time as a voice-over artist (crazydjdrops.com), an in-home caregiver and a full time Auntie to 3 beautiful little girls. Here are some more things you may not know about me:

1. I have an unhealthy obsession with Cereal

2. I like to play guitar and sing karaoke:

Lana Del Rey - Video Games (Cover) by Allyson Michelle

3. I am way more antisocial in person than I am online.

4. I am kind of a hoarder....
I keep thinking that one day I will be able to make use of all my junk.

(not actually my things)

So there you have it! I hope this bring a more personable feel to this blog. I'm not ALL work and no play, y'know. Happy Friday all!

It's been a long Hiatus

It's been almost 2 years since I last posted on this blog. For that I apologize. It is somewhat difficult to juggle being a full time student, employee and auntie of 3. But I am back, and better than ever! So to make this an official announcement, here is a lil sneak peek at what you can soon find on the Knotty NY Etsy Shop:
